Book News – Quick Post:

Monday, June 26th, 2006

Good news on the manuscript front. My dear friend, Stuart Tanner, agreed to help me with the final copy edit of my manuscript. Stuart’s father was an English teacher in Palo Alto for years and English runs in their blood. It’s a very cool development.

Charlie received the promotional materials I sent him – club cards, bookmarks, postcards and invitations. After the great work he’s done on the web site and the book cover I’m sure his promotional materials will be great.

Bookmarks and postcards are how most writers advertise their books outside the press and the web. Using club cards, like the ones they hand out for raves in the Castro is my idea. Invitations are glossy affairs one only sends to people who will generate at least ten sales – they’re also what I’ll use for the launch party. Invite local book sellers.

Charlie is going to print bookmarks and club cards for Pegasus Designs and Hexed, (his new RPG game module company.) I’m going to distribute his promotional materials with mine, help his company.

Tentative launch date is February/March of next year assuming all goes well. Maybe I’ll get my back surgery done before then – be pain free for the launch.

A boatload of variables.
